Interventions and Strategies to Improve Sexual and Reproductive Health Outcomes among Adolescents Living in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Adolescent access to quality sexual and reproductive health rights has been a major issue in most low- middle-income countries (LMICs). This systematic review aims identify the relevant community school-based interventions that can be implemented LMICs promote adolescents’ rights. We identified 54 studies, our findings suggested educational interventions, financial incentives, comprehensive post-abortion family planning services were effective increasing their knowledge use of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (ASRHR) services, such as contraception, which led decrease unwanted pregnancies. However, we found inconclusive limited evidence on effectiveness for improved violence prevention adolescent behavior towards safe practices. More rigorous studies with long-term follow-ups are needed assess interventions.
